WARSAW, Poland – August 22, 2006 – Netia SA (“Netia” or the “Company”) (WSE: NET), Poland’s largest alternative provider of fixed-line telecommunications services, today announced that on August 22, 2006 Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services revised its outlook on the Company to negative from stable due to marked revenue and EBITDA deterioration in the first half of 2006. At the same time, Netia’s “B+” long-term corporate credit rating (range from AAA to D) was affirmed.
