On 29 January 2008, during the Great Ceremony on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of KIGEiT, Netia received an award for a special contribution to the creation of conditions for growth of the electronic and telecommunications industry in Poland and support provided to business initiatives of KIGEiT in this area.
Eugeniusz Gaca, Netia’s Corporate Director and chairman of the Telecommunication Operators Section of KIGEiT, was rewarded for significant contribution to the integration of the telecommunication operators environment and for actions supporting the growth of the telecommunication market in Poland.

The National Chamber of Electronic and Telecommunication Industry (KIGEiT) is a non-profit association of business entities active in the field of production, trade, services and R&D in the area or for the benefit of electronics and telecommunications as well as radio and television services.
The Chamber co-operates with the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Transport, the Office of Electronic Communications, the National Broadcasting Council, the Ministry of Finance and international organisations such as WTO with respect to plans of development, restructuring and strategies for the electronic industry. It prepares opinions, projects and analyses and appoints experts and appraisers.
KIGEiT constantly monitors the electronics market which enables reliable diagnosis of the market condition as well as early detection of threats to the sector and trends.

Netia S.A. has been a member of the Chamber since 2002. It takes active part in the work of its Telecommunication Operators Section (SOT). The said section was set up in 2002 in order to strengthen the position of independent operators and to enable them to speak and present their standpoints on important telecommunications issues.

The section works for a greater liberalisation of the telecommunications market. It has contributed to introduction of many advantageous amendments to acts and regulations concerning, among other things, telecommunications law. It also works for the introduction of broadband Internet access. It takes active part in many proceedings before the regulator concerning, among other things, introduction of master offers concerning combination of networks, freeing up a local subscriber loop or lease of telecommunication lines.

The award for Netia and Eugeniusz Gaca is an acknowledgement of the activity of Netia in KIGEiT.
